To serve a larger area of the student population more effectively, Lone Star College (LSC) provides Satellite Centers in remote areas from the main campuses. Designed as a prototype this center will provide classroom space, science labs, learning commons, and tutoring spaces. Lab space for workforce curriculum such as welding (shown), HVAC, machining, and auto technology will also be provided. Besides the administrative and faculty offices, support for student interaction with the college includes registration, counseling, testing, and cashiers. To enhance their experience, students have designated seating areas throughout the facility and break areas for study, relaxation and eating. Rainwater is collected off the rood and stored for use as irrigation water.
