Approaching its centenary milestone, Loretto tasked Exigo with crafting a Master Plan spanning the next century. The plan aimed to anticipate future student and faculty expansion, conduct a comprehensive facility assessment, consider new constructions, address security and safety concerns, and enhance campus-wide accessibility. Exigo initiated visioning sessions with faculty, staff, students, and board members to shape Loretto’s new vision, drawing inspiration from Pope Francis’s Laudato Si’ environmental encyclical as a guiding principle for the Master Plan.
A thorough facility assessment study identified significant Deferred Maintenance requirements to meet contemporary educational, energy, technological, sustainability, security, and safety standards while preserving the campus’s rich historic Spanish Renaissance architecture. These challenges necessitated innovative solutions to minimize costs, facilitate phased implementation, and ensure uninterrupted campus operations during construction. The Plan outlines priorities and project phasing to address the most urgent needs as funding becomes available. It also outlines plans for new buildings and facility upgrades, aligning with Loretto’s ambitious fundraising strategy and ensuring the realization of its vision for the next 100 years.
