The Ysleta Port of Entry design reflects a comprehensive effort to modernize one of the region’s most critical international crossings, enhancing both functional performance and user experience. The project looks at different modernization strategies, with a focus on strengthening safety, mobility, and operational efficiency at the port Preliminary concepts include thoughtfully designed shaded walkways, clearly defined crosswalks, landscaped waiting areas, and dedicated drop-off and pick-up zones. These elements aim to create a more intuitive and comfortable circulation experience for pedestrians while improving sightlines and wayfinding — key considerations in border facility design.
